Hon. Arthur F. Engoron (Ret.) Joins NAM’s Esteemed Panel of Neutrals

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation) is proud to announce that the Honorable Arthur F. Engoron (Ret.), former Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, New York County, has joined NAM’s award-winning panel of neutrals. He is available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout New York.

Justice Engoron brings more than two decades of distinguished judicial service to NAM. He served as a Justice from 2016 through 2025, following earlier service as an Acting Supreme Court Justice and as a Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York.

“I am pleased and excited to join NAM, and I look forward to assisting parties in resolving disputes efficiently and fairly,” said Judge Engoron. “My years on the bench reinforced the value of thoughtful, disciplined alternative dispute resolution as a complement to the court system.”

Throughout his judicial career, Judge Engoron presided over a wide range of complex civil matters, including commercial disputes, construction cases, employment law matters, medical malpractice actions, and high-stakes personal injury litigation. He regularly presided over settlement conferences and brokered many improbable “miracle settlements,” helping parties resolve disputes efficiently while maintaining procedural control and balanced judgment.

Justice Engoron has particular depth in employment-related disputes, including prevailing wage litigation, wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour claims, negligent hiring, and employee classification issues. His experience also includes CPLR Article 78 proceedings involving medical license revocations, as well as complex commercial and construction matters requiring careful legal analysis and active case management.

Before joining the bench, Judge Engoron practiced law in New York and served for more than a decade as a principal law clerk to a Justice of the Supreme Court, gaining extensive experience in motion practice, opinion drafting, and appellate matters. This combined background as a practitioner, law clerk, and long-serving jurist informs his work as a neutral and provides parties with a clear, informed perspective on how courts evaluate disputes.

“Judge Engoron’s breadth of trial court experience and practical approach to dispute resolution make him an outstanding addition to NAM’s roster,” said Mark Haddad, CEO of NAM. “His ability to evaluate risk, manage complex cases, and guide parties toward resolution reflects the level of excellence our clients expect.”
