Michael Lyons, Chris Simmons named to elite national legal guide for 2026

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Award-winning trial firm Lyons & Simmons announced that its co-founding partners Michael Lyons and Chris Simmons have again been selected for the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America list, each securing a spot in the 2026 edition of the prestigious legal guide that honors the nation’s top lawyers across all areas of practice. Less than 60 Dallas-area attorneys are featured on this year’s list.

Both Mr. Lyons and Mr. Simmons were recognized for their exceptional work as plaintiffs trial lawyers, reflecting their work on behalf of clients facing life-altering losses and their successful track records representing individuals and families in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases throughout Texas and nationwide.

Most recently the Lyons & Simmons trial team secured a $109.5 million jury verdict for two victims of a home explosion that resulted from leaks in a utility company’s natural gas system in San Antonio, Texas. The verdict is believed to be the second-largest negligence verdict in Bexar County history, as well as the second-largest Texas personal injury verdict of 2025 based on the jury’s actual damages award.

Mr. Lyons is celebrating his third Leading Lawyers selection. He has also earned a place on Lawdragon’s list of the 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers annually since 2020. He has regularly appeared on Thomson Reuters Texas Super Lawyers list and has been named among the Top 100 Lawyers in both Texas and Dallas-Fort Worth for the past four years. He has also been honored by The National Law Journal and has been recognized for more than a dozen years among the Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine.

Mr. Simmons has been recognized by The National Law Journal as one of the top lawyers in the country as a “Trailblazer” award recipient. He has been recognized multiple times on the lists of The Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers, as well as D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.
