Lyons & Simmons Receives Elite Trial Lawyers Award from The National Law Journal

Dallas firm recognized nationally for excellence in catastrophic injury litigation

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Law Journal has named Lyons & Simmons the recipient of a 2026 Elite Trial Lawyers Award in the Catastrophic Injury category, recognizing the firm's outstanding trial advocacy and results on behalf of individuals and families whose lives have been permanently changed by catastrophic injuries.

Presented annually by The National Law Journal, the Elite Trial Lawyers award is a national recognition that honors attorneys and law firms that have delivered groundbreaking legal strategies, achieved significant results, and showcased an unwavering commitment to advancing justice for their clients.

Lyons & Simmons has earned a reputation for representing clients in complex catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, and commercial transportation cases. Since 2023, the firm has been directly involved in securing more than $1 billion in verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients nationwide.

The firm's selection was based in part on its representation of clients pursuing claims against natural gas providers for alleged failures to properly maintain supply infrastructure, resulting in devastating explosions. In 2025, Lyons & Simmons secured a $109.5 million verdict against CPS Energy after a San Antonio explosion left two residents with permanent, life-altering injuries.

The firm currently represents additional families in separate natural gas explosion cases in San Antonio and North Texas. The award also looks at the firm’s verdicts, settlements and body of work over the last five years according to their criteria. Prior to winning this year’s award for Catastrophic Injury, the firm was a finalist two of the last three years.
