SPG Expands Operations with New Guadalajara Manufacturing Facility
New site supports the growing AI server market and SPG’s existing closed-loop ecosystem
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Specialized Packaging Group (SPG), a leading North American provider of sustainable protective packaging solutions, today announced the opening of a new facility in Guadalajara, Mexico. The expansion comes in response to growing customer demand for crate solutions used to transport advanced technology equipment, including servers for the rapidly emerging artificial intelligence (AI) market.
“AI is one of the fastest-growing sectors in technology, and our customers need reliable solutions to transport sensitive and high-value equipment,” said Paul Budsworth, CEO, SPG. “Our team developed a crate solution that meets rigorous requirements, allowing customers to transport critical servers efficiently, securely and sustainably.”
The 50,000-square-foot Guadalajara facility strengthens SPG’s capabilities and supports the evolving needs of the high-tech market. By expanding locally in Guadalajara, SPG can respond faster to local tech sector customer requirements while also expanding its capabilities to serve customers throughout North America.
The Guadalajara facility further strengthens SPG’s commitment to sustainability through its closed-loop recycling program. Packaging materials that are used to ship servers are recovered, recycled and reintegrated into future production, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. By combining advanced manufacturing capabilities with circular material practices, SPG is one of the first packaging manufacturers to help customers meet performance demands while supporting more responsible, efficient supply chains.
“This expansion underscores our commitment to innovation, customer service and closed-loop recycling practices,” said Budsworth. “Through this investment, we are able to better serve our customers in the data center sector while creating new opportunities for growth and collaboration in Guadalajara.”
SPG’s Guadalajara facility is expected to serve as a key hub for high-complex packaging solutions across North America.
