The year’s defining moment came in February, when a Bexar County jury returned a $109.5 million verdict against CPS Energy for the catastrophic 2021 home explosion that severely injured two members of a San Antonio family. The jury found that the company failed to properly maintain its infrastructure to the residence, leading to the natural gas explosion and fire that left one resident permanently disabled and the other with long-term physical and mental trauma.

According to the Law.com reporting service VerdictSearch, the verdict was the second largest negligence verdict in Texas for 2025 based on the actual jury award, and among the top six largest verdicts in Texas regardless of category.

The firm also gained several significant and favorable confidential settlements for clients prior to trial in cases involving personal injury liability and negligence on the part of defendants.
