US Foods Delivers Nearly $12.5M in Charitable Giving Support in 2025
Company Reports a Nearly 70% Increase in Associate Charitable Volunteer Hours Fueled by “Dollars for Doers” Initiative
ROSEMONT, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--US Foods Holding Corp. (NYSE: USFD), one of America’s largest foodservice distributors, announced today that the Company and its associates donated nearly $12.5 million in cash, product and volunteer time to support hunger relief, culinary education and disaster relief efforts throughout 2025. The Company’s “Helping Communities Make It” program aims to harness the power of food to empower communities with nourishment and opportunity, which is of the utmost importance today as food banks and other community programs struggle to meet increased demand. Total contributions in 2025 include more than 5 million pounds of food and supply donations, the equivalent of approximately 4 million meals or more than 180 truckloads of product.

The Company increased associate volunteer hours by nearly 70% in 2025 vs. 2024 with support from the newly launched US Foods “Dollars for Doers” program. The program awards credits of $25 per volunteer hour contributed, which associates can direct to their charity of choice. In 2025, volunteer hours generated nearly $100,000 in credits to more than 230 charitable organizations across the country.

Hunger Relief
Throughout 2025, US Foods donated cash and product to hunger relief organizations across the country who share the Company’s commitment to nourish those facing food insecurity. Highlights include:
- Feeding America® - The Company donated more than $5 million in food and supplies to Feeding America’s network of food banks across the country and provided $250,000 in financial support to the Feeding America MealConnect initiative.
- Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) - US Foods tripled contributions to MFAN to nearly $750,000 in 2025, helping to fight food insecurity among military families through an innovative pantry restock program.
- Rethink Food - The Company’s donation of $500,000 supported the expansion of Rethink Food into the Chicago market. Rethink Food aims to bridge the gap between excess food and the communities that need it by partnering with restaurants, food purveyors and donors to deliver nutritious, culturally celebrated meals to communities at no cost.
- Chicago-area signature programming included a total of $350,000 in monetary donations to Greater Chicago Food Depository's veteran-specific hunger relief programming and Northern Illinois Food Bank to help address food insecurity across the Chicago-land area.
- Giving Kitchen - US Foods’ $150,000 donation to the national nonprofit helped provide emergency assistance for foodservice workers through Giving Kitchen’s Stability Network of community resources and financial support.
US Foods also supported hunger relief efforts through associate giving and volunteer initiatives, including a company-wide volunteer drive for Hunger Action Month®, US Foods’ “Spring into Service” program, in which associates participated in various company-sponsored community service events, and a month-long “Giving Gratitude” campaign focused on providing food to underserved communities during the holidays. These activities generated a total charitable value of nearly $200,000 for additional hunger relief efforts.
Culinary Education
As part of the Company’s ongoing commitment to culinary education and building the next generation of culinary talent for its customers, US Foods awarded $360,000 in scholarships to students pursuing degrees in culinary arts, baking and pastry, chef training and business management through its US Foods Scholars program, which expanded nationwide for the first time in 2024. Since its launch, the program has awarded more than $2.4 million in scholarships to more than 120 students to empower the future of foodservice.
Disaster Relief
Throughout the year, US Foods continued its commitment to disaster relief aid with the American Red Cross. US Foods is a formal Annual Disaster Responder Program partner, donating $250,000 annually to support the Red Cross in their efforts to quickly mobilize resources before disasters strike.
Associate Relief
US Foods understands that like everyone, its associates sometimes experience personal hardships including natural disasters, accidents, and unexpected expenses that create financial challenges. To aid associates with these hardships, the Company launched the You Matter Associate Assistance Fund in 2025. The fund, which is administered by an independent third party, is fully funded by the Company with optional contributions by associates.
