TORONTO & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Over 15 years since first traveling to rural Kenya to help build Baraka Hospital, Klick Health went back to partner with the hospital and local healthcare professionals in helping provide access to 1,600 life-changing surgeries for people across the country’s Mara region. The partnership is the focus of the company’s just-released ‘Many Hands,’ holiday video, a story about the power of community.

Filmed on location with soundtrack by acclaimed Nairobi-based RedFourth Chorus, ‘Many Hands’ features Mara community members, who often face major barriers to receiving specialized care, as they travel to the hospital for surgery to restore their sight, mobility, and quality of life. There, two dozen patients are paired up with one of the 24 Klick team members (representing the company’s 1,600 employees and 1,600 surgeries provided in their names), who travel to the region to build meaningful connections and witness how mutual trust and collaboration can drive progress.
“When we announced that we would be offering free surgeries, we got thousands of requests. We have a lot of people who have major surgical cases, but due to financial constraints, they have not been able to undergo the surgeries to help them,” said Carol Moraa, Kenya Program Director at Baraka Hospital. “We are going to be able to relieve some people of the burden they've been carrying for so many years.”
Klick Co-Founder and Chairman Leerom Segal said, “Sharing this story holds a very special place in our hearts. What started with the construction of Baraka Hospital in 2010 has grown into one of the most meaningful partnerships in our company’s history. We see how community-led solutions can create lasting impact, and we have deep gratitude to the hospital, medical teams, and community that have welcomed and taught us so much.”
A Longstanding History and Relationship with Baraka Hospital
Klick’s connection to the region dates back to 2004 with the building of Kisaruni High School and in 2010, Klicksters helped build Baraka Hospital, the first major medical hub in the area. Over the years, Klick has supported the expansion of surgical wards, maternal health programs, and essential services, extending access to care for thousands of families.
The company’s annual holiday videos, which also started in 2010, have inspired millions of people around the world with themes of connection, kindness, and joy. Klick has produced previous holiday videos in support of Make-A-Wish, Sesame Workshop, The Fred Rogers Center, Operation Warm, and other charities.
‘Many Hands’ can be viewed, liked, and shared on YouTube. For every view, Klick will donate $1 to Baraka Hospital (up to $10,000). Viewers are also encouraged to donate via the QR code at the end of the video.
About Baraka Hospital
In many rural areas of Kenya, access to quality healthcare is limited, leading to high rates of chronic illness, malnutrition, and infant mortality. To combat these challenges, Baraka Hospital was founded in 2010 with the mission to provide essential healthcare services to communities across the Maasai Mara region.
Now recognized as a Level 4 facility, Baraka Hospital offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including acute care, inpatient and outpatient treatments, surgical services, and specialized maternal care through the Baraka Maternity Wing. The hospital also provides diagnostic and laboratory services, ensuring that families in rural Kenya have access to the care they need.
Baraka Hospital has revolutionized healthcare in the Mara region, treating over 283,000 patients to date. The hospital’s maternity wing has safely delivered more than 7,200 healthy babies, and its public health campaigns have reached hundreds of thousands. Baraka continues to provide life-saving medical care and preventive health services, filling a critical gap in rural healthcare access. Generations of families depend on Baraka Hospital for life-saving treatments, from safe childbirth to critical surgeries. Beyond medical care, the hospital plays a key role in promoting health education, empowering community members with the knowledge to improve their well-being and prevent illness.
Baraka Hospital continues to be a pillar of health and hope for the Maasai Mara, ensuring that quality healthcare is not just a privilege, but a reality for all.
