Frontgrade Technologies Announces the Launch of SIMOPS Low Band and SIMOPS High Band Power Amplifiers, Delivering Robust, Multi-Mission Communication Capability

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Frontgrade™ Technologies, a leading provider of high-reliability electronic solutions for space and national security missions, today announced the expansions of its advanced tactical communications portfolio with the introduction of the SIMOPS Low Band and SIMOPS High Band Power Amplifiers, two rugged, high-performance solutions engineered to enhance mission readiness across complex operational environments. Together, these amplifiers provide a comprehensive, flexible communication architecture that supports modern and legacy radios, aligning with CMOSS/SOSA standards and offering future-proof adaptability. Designed to operate independently or as a combined multi-band solution, the new offerings build upon Frontgrade’s commitment to delivering resilient, field-proven technology for defense and security customers.

The SIMOPS Low Band Power Amplifier provides powerful VHF/UHF performance across the 30–512 MHz spectrum, delivering up to 50 watts of RF output power in a compact, lightweight 3.2-lb chassis. Built for harsh environments, it maintains full operational capability from -40°C to +60°C, supports 100% duty cycle, and features MIL-STD-1275 and MIL-STD-461 compliance for power and EMI/EMC robustness. With support for widely used waveforms, the Low Band Power Amplifier ensures seamless interoperability across a wide array of platforms and mission sets. Advanced Autosense capabilities and configurable interfaces further simplify integration, enabling rapid deployment across ground, airborne, mobile, and unmanned systems.

Complementing the low-band solution, the SIMOPS High Band Power Amplifier extends coverage into critical upper-frequency channels, operating across both 225–512 MHz and 1250–2600 MHz. Delivering up to 20 watts of continuous RF output power, the High Band unit provides exceptional receive sensitivity with a low noise figure of ≤6 dB. Like its Low Band counterpart, the High Band Power Amplifier is fully ruggedized for extreme environments, offering IP67+ immersion protection, high-vibration tolerance, and comprehensive electrical protections for uninterrupted operation in mission-critical scenarios. Its broad waveform support and intelligent power management ensure high performance across tactical ground communications, UAV platforms, rapid-deployment kits, and fixed infrastructure.

Together, SIMOPS Low Band Power Amplifier and SIMOPS High Band Power Amplifier form a powerful, flexible communications solution that reduces system complexity, and enhances interoperability across diverse mission profiles. Engineered for scalability, ease of integration, and long-term technology evolution, Frontgrade’s SIMOPS Power Amplifiers continue to advance the standard for resilient, multi-domain communications. These new amplifiers position operators to meet the demands of rapidly evolving battlefield networks while ensuring reliable, high-fidelity communications when it matters most.
