Swisslog Healthcare to Showcase New Tenutō™ Line at Conference for Pharmacists

Advancing cold chain technology with enhanced medication safety and energy efficiency

BROOMFIELD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Swisslog Healthcare, a leading supplier in transport and pharmacy automation solutions, will showcase Tenutō Medical Refrigerators and Freezers at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Midyear Conference from December 7-10. This launch introduces cutting-edge cold chain technology designed to enhance patient safety and reduce operational costs. ASHP attendees can explore these advanced units in the Swisslog Healthcare showcase at booth #841 and on display with their distribution partner HCL at booth #529.

The Tenutō line delivers trusted temperature uniformity and rapid recovery after door openings, safeguarding medication integrity and patient safety. These models consume 47% less energy than standard units, offering significant savings. The line achieves comprehensive compliance, including UL, Energy Star, and ANSI/NSF 456 certifications, FDA registration for many models, features a built-in USB data logger or traceable documentation, and an optional RS-485 enabling integration with hospital building management systems.

"The Tenutō medical refrigerators and freezers mark a critical advancement in pharmaceutical storage technology, delivering the precision and reliability that modern healthcare demands," said Connie Vigil, Business Analyst, Product Management for Pharmacy Automation at Swisslog Healthcare. "When medications lose potency due to temperature fluctuations, patients suffer the consequences. By integrating advanced temperature control and energy efficiency, we provide a solution that safeguards patient health and supports sustainability goals."

Designed for reliability, the Tenutō models include a backup battery to maintain critical functions during power outages, allowing healthcare providers to monitor internal temperatures and manage medications effectively. Built for continuous operation, they offer redundant safety features and long-term durability, exceeding 10 years of service life. The intuitive design streamlines daily tasks, enhancing workflow efficiency.

"Attendees at ASHP Midyear will see firsthand how the Tenutō line can enhance their operations," said Maria Garces, VP of Pharmacy Automation Products for Swisslog Healthcare. "This launch highlights our commitment to advancing healthcare technology and providing solutions that strengthen both operational success and patient care."

Swisslog Healthcare will offer two distinct product makes, including the Tenutō Cool, a pharmacy refrigerator with capacities ranging from 42L to 1006L, and the Tenutō Combo, a combination refrigerator and freezer with versatile temperature ranges. Key models of the Tenutō Cool line, including the Countertop 5L42 (42L), the Undercounter 5L126 (126L), and the Single 5L316 (316L), which will be on display, along with the Double 25L350 (350L) model from the Tenutō Combo collection.
