YugabyteDB’s Distributed SQL Summit, Co-located with KubeCon North America, Highlights Advancements in PostgreSQL and AI

On November 10, the seventh annual distributed SQL industry event will focus on the progress and possibilities of “Distributed PostgreSQL in the AI Era.”

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Yugabyte, the distributed database experts, today announced that registration is open for its seventh annual Distributed SQL Summit (DSS 2025). The in-person event will take place on November 10 and will be co-located at KubeCon North America 2025 at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park, Atrium Terrace.

DSS 2025 will bring together data architects, developers, and database practitioners to discuss this year’s theme: “Distributed SQL in the AI Era.” It will feature ten sessions that demonstrate the progress and possibilities of using distributed SQL for building and deploying advanced AI applications, and will showcase the practical use of AI in database migration and performance tuning.

Attendees will benefit from discussions on real-world challenges, such as how to tame database sprawl with multimodal databases, how to migrate legacy databases to distributed databases, and considerations when selecting the right database for modern and GenAI applications.

Follow the Yugabyte blog for more details and register for DSS 2025 here.

Yugabyte co-founder and co-CEO Karthik Ranganathan will be presenting the opening keynote, “Cloud-Native AI at Scale: Distributed PostgreSQL for Kubernetes-First Organizations.” In this session, he will share industry trends and his vision for extending the use of PostgreSQL for AI applications, and unveil new agentic database administration and optimization features in YugabyteDB.

This year’s DSS speaker roster includes leading financial services, eCommerce, manufacturing, and technology organizations. Additionally, sessions by hyperscalers will showcase the latest advancements in the world of AI.

The event will include live demo stations and hands-on labs where attendees can experience:

  • Building AI applications on PostgreSQL
  • Live AI-powered Migration Center (Postgres, Oracle, MySQL)
  • AI-driven Performance Tuning Lab
  • Managing Distributed Databases

The Distributed SQL Summit was conceived as an industry event for engineers by engineers. Participants can attend engaging technical sessions, watch demonstrations, and participate in interactive workshops designed to explore use cases, technologies, and best practices for distributed databases.

“PostgreSQL has not only solidified itself as the most popular database among developers, but also emerged as the ideal database for building AI applications and for running AI-driven database migration and modernization efforts,” said Karthik Ranganathan, co-founder and co-CEO, Yugabyte. ”Earlier this year, we announced agentic AI applications for AI-driven performance management and tuning, and to enable easy migration to distributed PostgreSQL. It’s exciting to see the power of combining distributed PostgreSQL with AI. We look forward to sharing more agentic AI developments and facilitating thoughtful discussions on progress and future possibilities at DSS 2025.”

Join us in person at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park, Atrium Terrace, co-located at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon 2025, to dive into the world of distributed SQL in the AI era.
