Kuwana City, aiming to be ‘city open to the world,’ is also making efforts to build relationships with people who use English, which is a global language. We are promoting the “English Friendly City” initiative to increase opportunities for citizens to become familiar with English and aim for everyone to communicate in English.

Mr. Chris Glenn, a long term Nagoya based Australian radio DJ, has assumed the role of official ambassador for “English Friendly City Kuwana” since January 2025.

To further promote this initiative, we have created an “English Friendly City” logo. On the 1st of July we launched an official Instagram account featuring this logo as its icon, where we are promoting the charms of Kuwana in English.

We will be showcasing the information on the history, the attractions, culture, events etc. of Kuwana, as well as the initiative of the “English Friendly City”. Follow us and stay tuned!
