Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties Names Tim Swan Branch Manager of Encino, Calabasas Offices

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties is pleased to announce that Tim Swan has been promoted to the role of Branch Manager for the Encino and Calabasas offices. Swan brings 10 years of experience as the manager of the iconic Brentwood office, where he built a reputation as a mentor and business coach with a fresh, nimble approach based on the recognition that the only constant in real estate is change.

Swan is well known for encouraging agents to approach their business as a practice, one that is based on continuous improvement.

“This is a competitive business, and you have to adapt if you want to survive. To thrive, you have to be proactive and stay curious, especially in regard to continuing education. The agents in our Brentwood office embraced this mindset and this is a big part of why they have consistently led the nation with their sales,” explained Swan.

Brent Consedine, President of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, noted that, “Tim always finds a new way to support his agents and place them on a path to success that is unique to their individual skills.”

Along with a decade of experience coaching agents and positioning them for success, Swan draws from a successful background in residential sales. An agent since 2002, he credits his ongoing practice and local market knowledge for giving him an insight into the challenges and opportunities real estate agents face on a daily basis.

“I think of myself as an agent’s manager, because I still practice a little bit. It keeps me empathetic because I know how hard it can be to close a transaction. When agents come to me for guidance or support, I’m not just speaking from an administrative standpoint,” Swan commented.

John Closson, Vice President of the LA region for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, commented that, “Tim understands that effective leadership is based on our ability to serve our team, and the success he’s achieved with the Brentwood office is proof of this approach.”

Swan is currently managing a team of approximately 165 agents out of the Calabasas office. The Encino office is under construction and is expected to be completed early this summer.

“The new location is going to be state of the art and contemporary, with beautiful architecture and an open, friendly vibe that is aligned with the culture of our company,” noted Swan. “The emphasis here is on collaboration and that is partially why I ask the agents to help each other. It makes the seasoned agents stay energized and a rising tide really does lift all boats. At the end of the day, it’s all about the impression we make on our clients.”

Swan is well known for encouraging agents to approach their business as a practice, one that is based on continuous improvement. “Successful doctors and attorneys don’t punch a clock and go to work; they practice medicine and the law. Agents need to have a similar approach. The agents from Calabasas and Encino have rallied around this message and surrounded me with positive energy. Attitude is a huge success factor in this business and that is why mentoring, training and continuing education are so important.”

Swan also brings 17 years of experience in the entertainment industry as a Location Manager, Producer, and Production Supervisor. He previously served as the Los Angeles Mayoral Appointed Board Member for the Whitley Heights’ Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ), in addition to serving as a Board Member for The Charitable Foundation.

Swan is eager to help his fellow agents take their businesses to a new level by capitalizing on both the virtual and in-person training options that are offered by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
