Gateway First Bank Names Kyle Hubbard as Chief Executive Officer

JENKS, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gateway First Bank announced today that Kyle Hubbard, president of the bank’s banking division, has been named chief executive officer, effective May 1, 2025. Hubbard will also join the bank’s board of directors.

“Kyle brings a wealth of experience and energy to the position,” said Gateway’s outgoing CEO, Scott Gesell. “His past accomplishments and values make him the right person to help lead Gateway into the future. Kyle has a strong history of community engagement, which aligns perfectly with Gateway’s mission of strengthening families and communities.”

Hubbard brings over 23 years of banking experience to the role, having previously held senior leadership positions at Arvest Bank before joining Gateway. He has made a significant impact in the Bartlesville, Oklahoma, market and is actively involved in the community through Leadership Oklahoma, Bartlesville Development Authority, and Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

Hubbard holds a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University and an MBA from Southern Nazarene University. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado.

As Hubbard steps into his new role, Gateway also recognizes and thanks Gesell for his leadership and service. Gesell joined Gateway in 2013 and played a pivotal role in the company’s transformation from an independent mortgage company into a full-service bank. He will continue to serve on Gateway’s board of directors.

“We are deeply grateful to Scott for his invaluable contributions over the past decade,” said James Redman, board chairman. “We look forward to building on the foundation he established as Kyle leads Gateway into its next chapter of growth.”
