Ginger K. Biesbrock to Receive ACC Presidential Citation Award

Biesbrock to be recognized for contributions to cardiology during ACC’s Annual Scientific Session in Chicago

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ginger K. Biesbrock, PA-C, DSc, MPH, FACC, has been awarded the 2025 Presidential Citation Award by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in honor of her remarkable contributions to the cardiovascular profession. Biesbrock will be recognized for these achievements along with all 2025 Distinguished Award winners during Convocation at the ACC’s Annual Scientific Session (ACC.25) taking place March 29 – 31, 2025, in Chicago.

The Presidential Citation Award is awarded to a person whose contributions to the field of cardiology have been truly extraordinary.

As executive vice president of Care Transformation Services at MedAxiom, Ginger applies over 25 years of clinical and operational experience, leadership, and an understanding of the most recent scholarship in delivery science to her work with cardiovascular organizations. Her objective is to combine proven organizational performance improvement techniques with an innovation overlay – optimizing the present state while continuously looking to author original solutions.

Beginning her healthcare journey as a provider at the patient bedside and growing through operational leadership in sophisticated organizations, her focus has sharpened. Patient centricity, team-based care, efficient resource utilization, fiscal responsibility and servant leadership are signatures of her work with organizations, large and small, across the U.S. Prior to joining the MedAxiom team in 2014, Ginger served as chief operating officer of The Cardiovascular Group at Centra-Health in Lynchburg, Virginia, followed by directing operations at West Michigan Heart in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has extensive experience in both inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Ginger’s experience informs her work and includes contemporary cardiovascular workforce deployment strategies, cardiovascular service line (CVSL) design and leadership structures, cardiovascular clinic strategy development, and care team development and optimization. Her work also includes the development of a practical educational curriculum for advanced practice providers (APPs) being introduced to cardiovascular medicine, a separate CME offering for those looking for a deeper exposure to the field, and authorship of a nationally recognized survey of APP utilization.

Ginger’s academic work includes a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Public Health degree from Michigan State University. She completed her doctorate in healthcare leadership at the University of Alabama – Birmingham in 2022.

This year, 21 Distinguished Awards will be presented at ACC.25, recognizing cardiovascular professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the field. Recipients are nominated by their peers and then selected by the American College of Cardiology Awards Committee.
