A Distinguished Career in Cybersecurity and National Defense

Lt General (Dr) Rajesh Pant brings decades of unparalleled experience in cybersecurity, military leadership, and technology governance. Most recently, he served as National Cybersecurity Coordinator in the Prime Minister’s Office of India, where he led India’s national cybersecurity strategy and played a pivotal role in elevating India’s ranking in the UN Global Cybersecurity Index from 47th to a position in the global top 10.

Prior to his government role, Lt General Pant completed a distinguished 41-year career in the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals, where he led cyber training initiatives and was awarded three Presidential honors for his exceptional service. His leadership extended beyond the military into academia, industry, and governance, serving as the Chairman of a publicly listed electronics company, a Governing Council Member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), and a peer review member of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

A lifelong learner, Dr. Pant holds a Ph.D. in Information Security Metrics, an M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur, an M.Phil from Madras University, and a Master of Management Studies from Osmania University, equipping him with a unique blend of academic expertise and operational experience in the fields of cybersecurity, risk management, and technology policy.
