Resecurity Appoints Former FBI Cyber Leader Jerry Bessette to Advisory Board as Senior Advisor

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Resecurity®, a U.S.-based cybersecurity and intelligence company protecting Fortune 100 companies and government agencies worldwide, announced the appointment of Jerry Bessette to its Advisory Board as a Senior Advisor.

Bessette brings more than three decades of experience across federal law enforcement, national security, cybersecurity operations, digital investigations, and incident response. His career includes 24 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), followed by senior cybersecurity leadership roles in the private sector.

During his FBI career, Bessette served as a special agent and executive manager and held senior leadership responsibilities within the Bureau's cyber operations. In his final FBI assignment, he served as Chief of the Technical Operations Section for the FBI Cyber Division, where he managed the national cyber incident response team and technical operations supporting complex cyber investigations.

Before beginning his career with the FBI, Bessette served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and has also been recognized professionally as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Chief Information Security Officer.

He also led the FBI investigation into the 2014 cyberattack against Sony Pictures Entertainment and led the investigation into a significant data breach affecting the U.S. Postal Service. During his tenure, Bessette was also responsible for the development and management of a national strategy to counter computer intrusions.

Following his government service, Bessette continued his work in cybersecurity and incident response across the private sector. He served as a Managing Director at Ankura Consulting, where he worked on cyber investigations and served as an outsourced CISO for major corporations. He later joined Booz Allen Hamilton as Senior Vice President, leading the firm's U.S. Commercial Incident Response team and advising Fortune 500 organizations on cyber readiness, response, remediation, and resilience.

His subsequent leadership roles have included Chief Operating Officer positions within the cybersecurity sector, where his work has covered incident preparation, ransomware response, threat actor negotiation, post-incident remediation, and client delivery. He has led response efforts involving major ransomware incidents and advised Fortune 500 companies on emerging cyber threats.

“Jerry brings a rare combination of operational cyber experience, investigative leadership, and understanding of how organizations respond when serious incidents occur,” said Shawn Loveland, CEO of Resecurity. “His experience at the FBI and across the private sector will add significant depth to our Advisory Board. As Resecurity continues to work with enterprises, government agencies, and national security organizations, his perspective on incident response, cyber investigations, and resilience will be extremely valuable.”

As a Senior Advisor, Bessette will contribute his experience to Resecurity's strategic development and provide insight across areas including cyber incident response, investigations, risk management, organizational resilience, and engagement with public and private sector organizations.

The appointment adds another senior cybersecurity and national security practitioner to Resecurity's Advisory Board, which includes experienced leaders from intelligence, defense, cybersecurity, government, and the private sector. Resecurity uses its Advisory Board to bring additional operational and strategic perspectives into the company's work with customers and partners worldwide.

“Cybersecurity has always been about more than technology. It is about understanding the adversary, preparing organizations before an incident occurs, and making the right decisions when the situation becomes critical,” said Jerry Bessette, Senior Advisor at Resecurity. “Resecurity has built strong capabilities in cyber threat intelligence, investigations, and digital risk, and I look forward to contributing my experience to the team and supporting its work with organizations facing increasingly complex cyber threats.”

Bessette's appointment reflects Resecurity's continued investment in senior advisory expertise as the company expands its work across cyber threat intelligence, digital risk management, fraud prevention, incident response, and cybersecurity operations globally.
