Bill O’Malley, IR+M’s CEO and Co-CIO, will focus exclusively on his CEO and board responsibilities

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Income Research + Management (“Income Research” or “IR+M”) today announced that Bill O’Malley, CFA, the firm’s CEO and Co-CIO, will pivot from his Co-CIO duties and focus exclusively on his CEO and board of director responsibilities, effective March 31, 2025. Jim Gubitosi, CFA, IR+M’s Co-CIO with Bill since 2020, will welcome Mike Sheldon, CFA, the firm’s Deputy CIO since January 2024, as his new Co-CIO.

“At IR+M, we are focused on succession planning and developing our next generation of leaders,” said Bill O’Malley. “Jim has been an exceptional Co-CIO and partner, and we are thrilled to have Mike seamlessly shift into this role. Jim and Mike are long-tenured, senior leaders on our Investment Team and Investment Committee. Together with our senior investment leaders, they will guide our team forward.”

Both Jim and Mike joined IR+M in 2007. Prior to his promotion to Co-CIO, Mike was named Deputy CIO in 2024, and before that was a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Securitized/Government Team. Together, Jim and Mike bring over 50 years of investment experience to their Co-CIO roles.

“With our team of talented investment professionals and vibrant culture, we are well-positioned to deliver strong investment results for our clients,” said Jim Gubitosi.

“I am excited to collaborate more closely with Jim as we prepare our investment team for the future,” added Mike Sheldon.

Once Mike assumes the role of Co-CIO, he and Jim will report to Bill O’Malley.
