Syniverse's Universal Commerce Again Earns Top Honors in Juniper Research's Future Digital Awards

Platform empowers organizations across industries to benefit from blockchain-powered clearing and settlement processes

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Syniverse, the world's most connected company®, has earned a Platinum Award for Billing and Charging Evolution Platform Innovation and a Gold Award for Data and Financial Clearing Solution Innovation in Juniper Research's annual Future Digital Awards for Telco Innovation.

Syniverse's Universal Commerce platform was recognized in both categories a year after it won a Platinum Award as the Best Billing and Charging Evolution (BCE) Platform. Universal Commerce helps mobile network operators (MNOs) maximize their roaming business potential through streamlined and standardized clearing and settlement processes. It also addresses the growing complexity of billing and payment exchanges between home and visited MNOs.

The Future Digital Awards for Telco Innovation spotlight companies that demonstrate significant contributions to their sectors and show strong potential for future market impact. In the past year, Universal Commerce expanded beyond traditional telecommunications to serve satellite providers, Internet of Things (IoT) companies, and organizations in other industries requiring complex ecosystem settlement.

"Universal Commerce's application in these new use cases exemplifies how Syniverse approaches innovation — by developing solutions that address today's challenges and tomorrow's opportunities," said Nathan Robbins, VP of Strategy and Alliance at Syniverse. "As business needs change, we'll continue creating flexible solutions that serve various purposes and requirements."

Universal Commerce encrypts each transaction using blockchain technology and provides security through a private, decentralized ledger. Its smart contracts allow businesses to establish partnerships and begin exchanging traffic in as little as 15 minutes, while its wholesale aggregation capabilities enable organizations to process and monetize vast amounts of small, bursty transmissions from IoT devices.

Syniverse has deployed Universal Commerce for 90% of BCE-compliant international mobile operators and processes 50 billion BCE records annually. The platform's success stems from its strong network effect: As additional carriers join, more direct settlements occur, increasing Universal Commerce's value for all participants.

Juniper Research has delivered expert market intelligence and advisory services to the global telecommunications sector for more than 20 years and is trusted by leading MNOs and communications platforms worldwide. Launched in 2008, its Future Digital Awards honor companies that excel in delivering transformative solutions. Judges evaluate entries based on product innovation, features and benefits, partnerships, compliance, and business prospects.

Syniverse will be available to discuss Universal Commerce, its other roaming, fraud, and messaging solutions, and the future of connectivity at MWC Barcelona from March 3-6. For more information, visit https://www.syniverse.com.
