Thumbtack Launches as Home Services Collaborator for OpenAI’s New Operator

ChatGPT Pro members can leverage Operator to complete home projects on Thumbtack

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Thumbtack announced it is among the early research preview contributors for OpenAI’s new Operator, available initially to ChatGPT Pro members. Leveraging Thumbtack’s home services marketplace, Operator will be able to find, message and hire skilled professionals on a users’ behalf to help them get home projects done.

Operator enables users to easily complete “tasks.” Users will be met with various prompt ideas that allow them to request things like "find a top-rated house cleaner on Thumbtack for this weekend” or “book an emergency plumber to fix a leak on Thumbtack.” All tasks happen asynchronously on a remote browser, and users interact with Operator through a chat interface. Throughout the process, the user will have full control over workflows and will be prompted to confirm specific actions at times when more clarity is needed.
