Guidepost Solutions Welcomes Experienced Compliance Executive Gabriel Hidalgo as Senior Managing Director

Hidalgo brings over 25 years of legal and regulatory compliance expertise to Guidepost Solutions

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guidepost Solutions, a global leader in domestic and international investigations, compliance solutions, monitoring, and security and technology consulting, today announced the appointment of seasoned compliance officer Gabriel I. Hidalgo, as a senior managing director in the Compliance practice group. Hidalgo possesses over 25 years of experience as a senior compliance executive, BSA/AML regulatory examiner, and trusted advisor. He will be based out of the firm’s Washington D.C. office.

Hidalgo was the first global head of compliance for itBit (now known as Paxos), a virtual asset exchange that received the first financial institutional charter provided to a virtual asset service provider within the United States.

Hidalgo has also held prominent leadership roles at several financial institutions, including chief compliance officer at both Noble International Bank and Community Federal Savings Bank, where he successfully implemented regulatory-ready compliance programs. His career includes compliance and legal roles at HSBC Bank, Morgan Stanley, Capital One Bank, and Deloitte Financial Advisory Services. During his tenure at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Hidalgo conducted BSA/AML and sanctions exams and collaborated with agencies such as the FDIC and the SEC. Prior to joining Guidepost, Hidalgo spent the last seven years in managing director roles with FTI Consulting and K2 Intelligence, advising banking, cryptocurrency, and fintech clients on regulatory compliance.

As a recognized thought leader in the industry, Hidalgo frequently presents on topics related to cryptocurrencies, regulatory compliance, and blockchain. He holds a Juris Doctor in International Law from the University of Dayton School of Law. Fluent in Spanish, his expertise spans global markets, making him uniquely equipped to address the compliance opportunities and challenges faced by Guidepost’s diverse client base.
