Metronet Begins Fiber-Optic Internet Construction in Aurora

More Coloradans to Get the Fastest Fiber-Optic Internet in the Country

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet today announced that construction has begun on its 100% fiber-optic internet network to serve the city of Aurora, Colorado. Hailed by PCMag as the nation’s fastest major ISP, Metronet will invest tens of millions of dollars to bring ultra-high-speed fiber-optic internet directly to homes and businesses in Aurora. As construction progresses, Aurora’s residents will gain access to multi-gigabit speeds of up to five gigabits per second and businesses will gain speeds of up to ten gigabits per second.

The first customer service installations are anticipated early next year. As Metronet moves through its Aurora construction process, service will become available neighborhood by neighborhood.

Metronet is the largest and fastest-growing private fiber-to-the-home company, providing service to more than 300 communities in 18 states. In Aurora, residents and businesses interested in Metronet services may visit metronet.com/co/aurora to receive construction updates and check service availability.

“Reliable, ultra-high-speed internet is essential in today’s world, and we are committed to delivering the quality connection that consumers deserve,” said Kris Smith, Metronet regional vice president. “We look forward to soon integrating Aurora into our growing network as we begin the construction of our advanced infrastructure.”

Recognized as the country’s “Fastest Major ISP” by PCMag two years in a row, Metronet will equip Aurora’s residents and businesses with 100% fiber-optic multi-gigabit speeds. With access to Metronet directly from their home or businesses, consumers can tap into symmetrical upload and download speeds.

As construction progresses, Aurora residents will continue to see Metronet trucks in the area. Residents will receive communication by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to the start date. Additional notifications, such as yard signs, will also inform residents of upcoming construction. Metronet crews will be identifiable by ID tags and branded vehicles.

Metronet plans to hire local market management positions, sales and customer service professionals and service technicians to support the Aurora area. Those interested in joining the Metronet team can visit metronet.com/careers to search available positions and to submit applications.

In Colorado, Metronet provides internet service to Colorado Springs, and has recently announced that it will begin construction of a fiber-optic network in Westminster.
