Machesney Park Can Now Get Metronet’s 100% Fiber-Optic Internet

"Fastest ISP in the Country” Now Available for Residents and Businesses

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet, named back-to-back “Fastest Major ISP in the Country” by PCMag, today announced its service is officially available in Machesney Park, Illinois. Residents in initial construction areas can sign up for multigigabit speeds up to five gigabits, and businesses can tap into speeds up to ten gigabits.

Metronet’s ultra-high-speed service connects each customer’s location directly to its fiber-optic network of symmetrical speeds, meaning upload and download internet speeds move at the same fast rate.

Residents and businesses interested in Metronet’s services can visit metronet.com/il/machesney-park to sign up for pre-sale and construction updates.

Metronet’s Machesney Park construction project began this past May. As it moves from neighborhood to neighborhood, more households and businesses will gain access to the 100% fiber-optic service.

“We know that Metronet’s fiber-optic internet transforms communities through access to the fastest, most reliable technology available,” said Ben Ruzick, Metronet vice president. “As we continue to connect consumers to our state-of-the-art network, we’re proud to offer multigigabit internet that’s designed to improve the online experience.”

As construction progresses, Machesney Park residents will see Metronet trucks in the area. Residents will receive communication by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to the start date. Additional notifications, such as yard signs, will also inform residents of upcoming construction. Metronet crews will be identifiable by ID tags and branded vehicles.

Metronet plans to hire local market management positions, sales and customer service professionals and service technicians to support the Machesney Park area. Those interested in joining the Metronet team can visit metronet.com/careers to search available positions and to submit applications.

Metronet has invested heavily in Illinois, building fiber-optic networks to serve customers in Bloomington-Normal, Dekalb, East Moline, Geneva, Moline, Oswego, Plainfield, Rock Island, St. Charles, and more than 30 additional Illinois cities. To learn more visit metronet.com/il.
