DP World Strengthens Freight Forwarding Capabilities in the Americas with Key Leadership Appointments

New hires to drive air and ocean freight growth and expand DP World’s freight forwarding footprint across the Americas.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DP World, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, has bolstered its freight forwarding operations across the Americas with the appointment of two senior leaders. The company welcomes Philip Blumenthal as Senior Director of Ocean Freight and Peter Dyeremose as Senior Director of Air Freight. These strategic hires reflect DP World's commitment to driving robust growth in its freight forwarding services across the region.

As DP World continues to expand its freight management capabilities, these new appointments underscore the company’s focus on accelerating its core ocean and air freight operations. Blumenthal and Dyeremose will play pivotal roles in enhancing service offerings and building a stronger freight network to meet the increasing demands of the Americas market.

Prior to joining DP World, Blumenthal served as Chief Transformation Officer at ECU Worldwide, where he developed a digital sales model and implemented a platform sales strategy that enhanced service offerings. His efforts were instrumental in building the Freightos Marketplace and the Ocean Freight Index (FBX). Blumenthal holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Bremen, with a focus on hedging the volatility of ocean freight forecasting.

Dyeremose joins DP World with over 25 years of experience in logistics and air freight. He joins DP World from Mainfreight Inc., where he was responsible for air freight operations and managing global agent partnerships throughout the Americas. His career also includes time with DSV US HQ, where he led the development of the U.S. air freight sector and launched the cruise vertical, and K+N, where he supported the cruise and pharma sectors. Dyeremose studied Business at Hjoerring Business School.

Terry Donohoe, Senior Vice President, Freight Forwarding - Americas, DP World, said: “We are pleased to welcome both Philip and Peter, whose contributions will drive growth across our ocean and air freight sectors, propelling DP World’s freight forwarding business to new heights. Their extensive expertise will be instrumental in expanding our freight forwarding footprint across the Americas. Their combined leadership and innovative approach to logistics will allow DP World to scale our freight operations, streamline processes, and deliver seamless supply chain solutions to our customers.”

These appointments come at a time when DP World is investing heavily in its freight forwarding services to create more integrated, efficient end-to-end solutions. Since mid-2023, DP World has launched over 150 new freight forwarding offices globally, with 20 of these strategically placed throughout the Americas.
