AGI Farm Conveyor Goes Pink to Support Breast Cancer Awareness in Canada

WINNIPEG, Manitoba--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ag Growth International’s (AGI) Canadian farm team has released a pink limited-edition UCX³ U-trough belt conveyor in support of breast cancer awareness. During October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, AGI invites Canadian farmers to bid on the fully loaded, one-of-a-kind field loader (MSRP $87,156 CAD), or the public can make a donation. All proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).

"We are proud to do what AGI does best – manufacturing equipment that supports the journey of crops from harvest to feed for animals and food for people – to support this important cause, that affects the well-being of rural and urban families, alike,” says Paul Brisebois, AGI Senior Vice President, Canada-Farm.

The Conveyor for a Cause campaign is the brainchild of AGI’s Swift Current manufacturing team in Saskatchewan – Canada’s largest exporter of agri-food products. AGI’s facility produces portable belt conveyors for pulses, corn, soybeans, seed facilities and fertilizer handling applications for farm customers across North America.

“This is a great match-up. Just like how AGI is ‘right there for farmers’ with industry-leading grain storage, handling and conditioning solutions, the Canadian Cancer Society is ‘right there for Canadians’ to champion world-leading outcomes in cancer prevention, treatment and support,” says Tom Firth, AGI Swift Current General Manager who spearheaded the initiative. “The breast cancer awareness conveyor is our unique way of supporting this worthwhile cause. And that benefits everyone from farm to table.

AGI’s Conveyor for a Cause campaign carries a dual purpose. While funds raised will go directly to CCS, the UCX³ belt conveyor, also, will benefit a farm operation. The AGI Batco UCX³, known for its u-trough design and efficiency, moves more commodities in less time with low impact to protect grain quality and seed germination performance. The pink conveyor up for bid can move up to 12,000 bushels per hour.

Rodger Lohman, CCS Supporter Engagement Specialist, says his organization is “beyond grateful” for AGI’s support and commitment to make a difference in the lives of people affected by breast cancer.

“Fundraisers like this enable CCS to continue pushing the boundaries of breast cancer treatment and change the future of breast cancer. Since its peak in 1986, the breast cancer death rate has been nearly cut in half, and today, the 5-year survival rate continues to improve. We could not achieve this kind of progress and bring hope without the generosity of people and communities coming together,” says Lohman.

AGI offers two ways to participate in Conveyor for a Cause, now through October 31, 2024. Farmers can submit their bids for the pink limited-edition conveyor OR the public can make a donation by visiting www.aggrowth.com/PinkConveyor. AGI will announce the winning bid in November.
