Grant Thornton wins awards for diversity and “magnetic culture”

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands for audit, assurance, tax, and advisory services, was recognized with two awards for its commitment to engaging employees and promoting diversity:

Forbes' recognition underscores Grant Thornton's efforts to prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEI&B) initiatives in the workplace. The magazine asked more than 170,000 employees to rate their employers’ diversity and inclusion practices, such as the presence of employee resource groups, the publication of employee demographic data, the percentage of women in leadership roles and more. In an analysis of more than 1,300 organizations with at least 1,000 employees, Grant Thornton’s dedication to DEI&B stood out.

At the same time, the new recognition by Quantum Workplace highlights the firm’s proactive approach to amplifying employee feedback. Grant Thornton was acknowledged among nine organizations for its focus on listening, which allows the firm to enhance its ability to deliver a differentiated people experience, attract and retain diverse talent, and ultimately strengthen its organization’s culture and competitive edge.

“An organization must have a diverse and engaged workforce to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment,” said Seth Siegel, CEO of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC. “This is why Grant Thornton has spent almost a century building a well-rounded and motivated team of professionals, and it’s why these awards are meaningful proof our formula is working to strengthen our firm, benefit our clients and improve our industry.”

Jeanna Shapiro, Grant Thornton’s chief people and culture officer, says the twin awards demonstrate the importance of diversity and listening when it comes to strengthening an organization’s culture.

“Across our firm, our people are working together to support, motivate and care for one another, and that includes embracing diverse perspectives — as well as acting upon data-driven employee feedback,” Shapiro said. “At Grant Thornton, we’re creating the people-focused firm that clients love to work with and people love to work for.”

Grant Thornton’s newest accolades continue the firm’s track record of external recognition. For instance, the firm recently earned a 100% score for the seventh year in a row on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
