Texas Original Announces Opening of Sugar Land Location, Launches New RSO Gummies

Texas’ medical cannabis leader improves access for Houston-area patients, expands product line with the launch of the company’s RSO Pineapple Gummies

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Texas Original, Texas’ leading medical cannabis provider, today announced the opening of its newest prescription pickup location in Sugar Land, Texas. The new location, now open to patients from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday, is the company’s fourth in the greater Houston area and the first-ever medical cannabis pickup site in Fort Bend County, the 10th-largest county in the state by population.

Texas Original also announced the launch of its new Pineapple Gummies, a 20 mg THC-only product made with Rick Simpson Oil (RSO). Alongside the company’s recently launched Dark Chocolate Bites and RSO Tincture, Texas Original’s Pineapple Gummies are among the first medical cannabis products in the state—and the first gummy product—to incorporate RSO. This full-spectrum extract includes all the cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes, proteins and other potentially beneficial compounds of the cannabis plant that may amplify the therapeutic benefits of THC.

“Texans from every corner of the state reach out to us asking for better access to medical cannabis. We view it as our mission—and our responsibility—to work within the confines of the state’s restrictions to expand access to life-changing cannabis medicine,” said Nico Richardson, CEO of Texas Original. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to provide improved access to thousands of patients in Fort Bend County and offer them a wider range of products to help treat symptoms associated with conditions like cancer and PTSD.”

The Sugar Land location is the latest advancement in Texas Original’s commitment to creating the most extensive and accessible network of medical cannabis pickup locations in the state. This location joins Texas Original’s three existing prescription pickup locations servicing the Houston area, including the company’s permanent Houston location in Houston Heights.

Medical cannabis can be prescribed in Texas to treat conditions including spasticity, neuropathy, PTSD, cancer, epilepsy and hundreds of neurodegenerative disorders. Texans can obtain medical cannabis prescriptions through online clinics or local physicians registered with the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas.
