Melvin Hibberd Promoted to Chief Investment Officer

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hunter Point Capital (“HPC”), a leading independent investment firm providing capital solutions to alternative asset managers, announced today that Conway Bate and Melvin Hibberd have been promoted to Global Head of Capital Formation and Chief Investment Officer, respectively.

These promotions reflect HPC’s growth and evolution since its founding in 2020. The firm has formed strategic partnerships with preeminent alternative asset managers around the world and launched its GP Financing Solutions (“GPFS”) platform last year to offer tailored and flexible capital solutions to a range of sponsors through NAV loans and preferred equity.

As Global Head of Capital Formation, Ms. Bate will lead HPC’s growing team of capital formation professionals. The group, which she has helped build since joining the firm in 2022, is responsible for capital raising at HPC and providing related counsel and support to the firm’s GP partners. Ms. Bate previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the Capital Formation group at HPC.

As Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Hibberd will oversee HPC’s investments across the firm’s GP Stakes and GPFS platforms, steering HPC’s investment strategy, processes, and portfolio construction. Since joining HPC in 2021 as a Managing Director and Head of the Investment Team, Mr. Hibberd has helped facilitate many of the firm’s investments.

"The strength of our team is core to the culture of partnership we are building at Hunter Point Capital,” said Avi Kalichstein, CEO and Co-Founder of HPC. “Conway and Melvin have been exemplary leaders in advancing our mission to be the world’s best capital solutions provider to general partners. I look forward to their continued contributions.”
