Global Pilots on Aircraft Accident at Japan’s Haneda Airport

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) is closely monitoring the developments related to the accident involving Japan Airlines flight 516, an A350 aircraft from Sapporo (CTS) to Tokyo Haneda (HND) and a DHC-8 aircraft.

Our thoughts are with the friends and families of the five crew members that were onboard the DHC-8 aircraft.

IFALPA stresses the need to avoid speculation as to what happened in the course of these tragic events. Such Investigation should strictly follow the provisions laid out in ICAO Annex 13.

The Federation has reached out to the Japanese Air Line Pilots’ Association and will be at the disposal of the relevant Accident Investigation Agencies to help gather any pertinent information.
