Securian Financial names Kristin Ferguson senior vice president of key business line

22-year company veteran now leads Individual Solutions

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Securian Financial named Kristin Ferguson senior vice president in charge of Individual Solutions, which includes the company’s individual life insurance and individual annuities business lines.

Ferguson reports to Chris Hilger, Securian Financial’s chairman, president and CEO. She succeeds longtime Securian Financial executive George Connolly, who is now serving as executive advisor and chief strategy officer, reporting to Hilger.

Ferguson is responsible for leading all aspects of Individual Solutions, from product development and risk management to sales and distribution.

Ferguson first worked for Securian Financial as a college intern in 2001. She joined the company full time in 2002 and since then has held various leadership roles.

Most recently, Ferguson served as vice president, chief financial officer and actuary for Individual Solutions. She previously held various financial management and actuarial roles with the company. She was promoted to second vice president in 2019 and vice president in 2022.

Ferguson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and economics from Iowa State University. She is a fellow in the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a CFA® charterholder, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and she holds Series 7 and Series 27 securities registrations. Ferguson serves the community as a board member for the Minnesota Council for Economic Education.
