MERRILL, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.1 is proud to be recognized among the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion, based on the company’s score of 90 on the 2023 Disability Equality Index (DEI). The DEI is a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), the nation’s largest disability rights organization, and Disability:IN, the global business disability inclusion network.

“Our participation in the Disability Equity Index helps us benchmark our progress and ensures our policies, practices and programs align with best practices in disability inclusion,” said John Tribble, vice president – chief diversity officer of Church Mutual. “This valuable initiative provides us with a framework to measure our efforts, identify areas for improvement and strive for excellence in creating an inclusive workplace for all.”

Globally, people with disabilities represent over one billion people. Disability is a natural part of the human experience, and it crosses lines of age, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and religion.

“Our mission at Church Mutual is to protect those who serve and inspire others. We believe diversity and inclusion are fundamental values that drive our organization forward to help us fulfill this mission,” Tribble said. “We are honored to take part in this collective effort to advance disability rights and create a positive impact in the communities we serve.”

The DEI is a comprehensive benchmarking tool that provides each company with a score on a scale of zero to 100, with those earning 80 and above recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.”

"These top-scoring companies understand people with disabilities represent a tremendous source of talent and innovation for their workforce and market share for their brands, and they are trailblazers in our journey towards full disability inclusion in business," said Maria Town, president and CEO of AAPD.
