Elara Caring Announces Plan to Acquire Assisted Daily Living

Pending deal marks home health leader’s expansion into Rhode Island

DALLAS--()--Elara Caring, the only full-scale, multi-state home health provider of clinical and personalized services across the patient continuum, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Assisted Daily Living, a 50-person, privately owned and Rhode Island-based skilled home healthcare provider. The acquisition, which is contingent on regulatory approval by the State of Rhode Island, will further increase Elara’s geographic footprint, create an opportunity to expand its presence into adjacent markets of Connecticut and Massachusetts, and advance its mission of expanding access to high-quality, home health care.

“Elara continues to set important milestones as we look to transform the home health space, bringing our relationship-based approach, innovative platform and value-based model to markets across the country,” said Scott Powers, CEO of Elara Caring. “We look forward to providing Rhode Island patients and clients with the individualized, high-quality, compassionate home health services that have come to define the Elara experience.”

Operations at Elara and Assisted Daily Living will continue as normal until the close of the transaction, expected to occur in the latter part of the year.

Elara’s innovative care platform leverages advanced technology, data, insights and services to anticipate home health needs by proactively monitoring and engaging current and previous patients/clients. It is specifically designed to empower caregivers with the tools, resources and support necessary to provide the best possible care, while creating an environment in which the most compassionate and committed caregivers want to come and build and grow their careers.

“In agreeing to be acquired by Elara, Assisted Daily Living is enhancing our ability to serve patients with outstanding care while providing greater opportunities for our team members,” said Debra Corey, President of Assisted Daily Living. “Given our organizations’ shared mission and values, I have every confidence that this move will serve to benefit scores of Rhode Islanders.”

The pending transaction represents one of several expansions Elara is exploring in 2023. Late last year, it announced the addition of hospice services to its home health offerings in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Elara Caring is one of the nation’s leading providers of home-based care, offering Skilled Home Health, Hospice, Personal Care Services, Behavioral Health and Palliative Care. With a footprint in 16 states in the Northeast, Midwest and Southwest, it serves more than 60,000 patients and their families across 200 locations. The Elara Caring mission is to deliver exceptional, personalized health care services wherever patients call home. The company accomplishes this by hiring compassionate people who believe in taking care of its patients, clients, care providers and each other. It also offers critical support through the Elara Caring Hospice Foundation, which provides physical, emotional, spiritual and/or social assistance to terminally ill individuals and their families.
