JNTO collaborates with influencers on new websites introducing various charms of Japan travel

Eight Hong Kong influencer groups share their Japan travel experience in 19 Prefectures

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Hong Kong Office has launched two new websites in Traditional Chinese: A video website “Discover the new sense of Japan,” where influencers representing different travel styles, document their unique travels in videos to introduce the destinations they visited, and a travel blog website “Hand-in-Hand Tour of Japan,” where influencers introduce various themed destinations for couples in travel blog articles. A total number of eight influencer groups are featured on the two websites, to introduce Japanese uniqueness through gastronomy, nature, traditional culture & history, etc., in 19 prefectures and 20 itineraries. New video and travel blog content will be released regularly until March 2023.

On October 11, 2022, Japan significantly eased entry restrictions, allowing individual travelers from Hong Kong to visit Japan again. The number of Hong Kong travelers visiting Japan had reached a record high of approximately 2.3 million in 2019 but declined to just 1,200 visitors in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the relaxation of border measures, there has been an increase in travelers from Hong Kong, from 2,800 in September 2022 to 83,000 in November 2022.

For the Hongkongers who have been eagerly awaiting the easing of entry restrictions, the JNTO Hong Kong office is providing information on tourist attractions, including areas off the beaten path.

In this campaign, four famous Hong Kong influencer groups will introduce four areas by different travel styles which are “Girls’ Trip,” “Family Journey,” “Solo Travel,” and “Couple Vacation” through videos. Moreover, 16 destinations for couples will be introduced by five influencer couples in travel blog articles under themes such as "Hot Springs," "Nature," "Anniversary Travel," and "Pre-wedding photoshoot“ etc..

Brand new video website “Discover the new sense of Japan”

In the video website “Discover the new sense of Japan,” each influencer group, representing one of the four travel styles mentioned above, will introduce a 3 days 2 nights itinerary through a promotional video and a travel vlog they produced. The inaugural itinerary features female influencer group 日本菇菇菇 JAPAN GoGoGo” introducing their trip to Kyoto Prefecture with a “Girls’ Trip” themed promotional video and a vlog.

Latest Travel blog website for couples “Hand-in-Hand Tour of Japan”

The travel blog website “Hand-in-Hand Tour of Japan” focuses on "Couple Travel" and will introduce 16 remarkable 2 days 1 night itineraries through the eyes of couple influencers.
Travel vlogs produced by the influencers will also be shown in four of the itineraries.
The first four entries released are “Nature” themed trips to Oita and Nagano Prefectures by couple influencer “風信子與旦那 (Kazenobuko and her husband)“, "Luxury Travel" themed trip to Okayama Prefecture and "Hot Spring" themed trip to Shiga Prefecture which also features a travel vlog, by another couple influencer “Elsie & Alfred”.

The remaining 15 contents will be released regularly until March 2023.
