Actiontec Announces Wi-Fi 7 Products

purpose-built for service providers enabling multigigabit residential services

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Actiontec is announcing industry leading Wi-Fi 7 products. The initial model, WF-825, is a tri-band Gateway that delivers all the benefits and advantages of Wi-Fi 7.

Wi-Fi 7, in accordance with IEEE 802.11be, enables multi-gigabit whole-home performance with higher capacity and extremely high throughput against interference and congestion. The powerful WF-825 Router features three 4x4 radios at 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz. It also offers 10G LAN and WAN Ethernet interfaces. Together with Actiontec’s current 10G PON and future 25G/50G PON solutions, service providers will be able to provide full end-to-end multi-gigabit service to residential and SMB customers.

“Our WF-825 has its unique multilink capabilities for more efficient utilization of non-contiguous spectrum,” commented Brian Henrichs, President of Actiontec. “This is achieved by combing channels simultaneously from the 5 GHz and 6 GHz radios to reach one aggregate data connection to increase the capacity of the links in mesh networks.”

The advantages of Wi-Fi 7 Products include wider channels using 320MHz of bandwidth and advanced 4K QAM modulation. These enhanced features allow faster speeds, increased throughput, and lower latency for Wi-Fi networks.

The WF-825 is in trial with several service providers and will be generally available in later 2023. More Wi-Fi 7 products will be released shortly.
