More Than 97% of the Nation’s Top Performing Health Insurance Plans – According to NCQA 2022 and CMS 2023 Plan Ratings – Use Member Experience Solutions From Press Ganey

A review of plan ratings distinguished Press Ganey health plan partners as the leaders in member experience

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Press Ganey, renowned leader in patient, member, employee and consumer experience across the healthcare ecosystem, today announced more than 97% of the highest rated health plans in the United States partner with Press Ganey for member experience measurement and engagement. This figure is based on an internal review by Press Ganey of the recently released Health Plans Rating 2022 Report from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and 2023 CMS Medicare Advantage Star Ratings Data.

The review of these two reports also found that Press Ganey clients comprise:

  • 97% of plans with a 4.5 to 5 out of 5 NCQA rating, a 3% increase over 2021;
  • 100% of plans with a 5 out of 5 NCQA rating; and
  • 98% of Medicare Advantage and Part D plans with CMS 4.5- and 5-Star Ratings.

“We at Press Ganey are proud to see our clients succeed so immensely in their continued commitment to deliver superior member experience,” said Patrick T. Ryan, Chairman and CEO, Press Ganey. “As value-based care emerges as the new industry standard, payers and providers alike face an imperative to adopt a holistic view of the human experience of care. We equip our client partners with insight at every care touchpoint and a large benchmark to support timely corrective action, enabling them to maintain their gold standard service even as the care journey evolves.”

Press Ganey acquired SPH Analytics, an NCQA-certified Survey Vendor and a CMS-Approved Medicare CAHPS Survey (MA & PDP CAHPS) Vendor, in 2021 to bring holistic and powerful insights to the fragmented provider and payer landscape. The now-combined organization has enabled Press Ganey to provide best-in-class insights at a national, regional and local scale to support its health plan partners in accelerating innovation and improving member experience.

“As healthcare as we know it rapidly evolves, health plans increasingly need a reliable means of predicting member experience and understanding pain points as far in advance as possible,” said Suzanne Cogan, General Manager, Payer Solutions at Press Ganey Solution. “We help our clients to architect better member experience through granular detail that pinpoints performance against our national benchmark and enable targeted improvement strategies early enough to make improvements.”

CMS rates Medicare Advantage health plans on their combined HEDIS, CAHPS, HOS, PDE, Administrative and Improvement measures. Member satisfaction performance as measured in the CAHPS Survey represents 32% of Medicare Advantage Star ratings.
