Middleburg Communities Hires Tommy Gallagher as Director of Construction Operations

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Middleburg Communities (“Middleburg”) today announced the strategic hiring of seasoned construction professional Tommy Gallagher as Director of Construction Operations. Gallagher, who will report to Chief Executive Officer Chris Finlay, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the construction business with specific focus on risk management, safety, and company standard operating procedures for all construction projects throughout the Middleburg portfolio.

Previously, Gallagher served as Vice President of Construction at Grosvenor, where he oversaw the company’s North American construction activities and was responsible for the planning, strategizing and financial management of all the company’s construction operations. Prior to joining Grosvenor, Gallagher worked at Balfour Beatty Construction as a Project Manager.

“We’re thrilled to have Tommy’s breadth and depth as we continue to grow into one of the largest apartment construction companies in the United States,” said Finlay. “For nearly two decades, he has managed the entire construction process from end-to-end. We look forward to leveraging his knowledge and skillset to further strengthen and institutionalize our construction capabilities and consistently deliver high-quality and on-time projects to drive added value for our stakeholders.”

Gallagher commented, “Middleburg’s significant pipeline of construction projects was a massive driver in my decision to join the team. Our ability to control the entire value creation process – from site selection and construction to asset and property management – is a true differentiator. I look forward to refining my best practices within this environment and to delivering end-products that both individuals and families are proud of.”

A Virginia native, Gallagher earned his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia.
