Venti Technologies Co-Founders Lead Presentation on “Seaport Autonomy: The Next Frontier in Logistics Transport”

Heidi Wyle and Daniela Rus Featured Speakers on Keynote Panel

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Venti Technologies Founder and CEO Heidi Wyle, Ph.D., and Co-Founder Daniela Rus, Ph.D., were featured speakers at the Women in Autonomy forum entitled “Seaport Autonomy: The Next Frontier in Logistics Transport.” The panel explored the role of autonomous mobility in fixing supply chain problems, increasing throughput at ports, and helping to alleviate congestion and container backlog. Venti Technologies, a global leader in safe-speed Autonomous Vehicle (AV) in complex logistics systems, brings real-world experience to this specific challenge.

“Ports are the hub of the global logistics market,” said Dr. Wyle. “But the system is stressed with overcrowding and delays in ensuring container ships can be off- and on-loaded and goods moved to where they need to be. As a consequence, the world’s supply chains – and people - are suffering.” She continued, “At Venti Technologies, we have developed flexible, safe and reliable AV technology which is uniquely capable of optimizing transportation of cargo containers.”

Venti’s AV technology can be used in a wide range of vehicles to move varying goods through complex spaces and over changing routes. The AI-based technology, which seamlessly integrates with a port’s existing infrastructure, also addresses scheduling requirements, managing loads, navigating distances, avoiding obstacles and facilitating loading and unloading at varying locations.

Venti recently announced the expansion of its senior leadership team as well as important operational progress, including the launch of a fleet, build-out of its commercial organization, growth in its sales pipeline, and the achievement of key financial milestones.

Venti was founded by Dr. Wyle, along with Professor Rus, Director of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the Andrew and Erna Viterbi Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and a MacArthur Fellow; Saman Amarasinghe, Ph.D., a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and Xinxin Du, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer, Venti Technologies.

The panel, held virtually on June 28, was moderated by Carolyn Jones, Market President and Publisher, The Boston Business Journal, hosted by Jennifer Deitsch, Program Manager of Women in Autonomy, and also included Lisa Partch Betlem, Senior Delivery Partner, Blue Yonder.
