Priyanka Timblo Rejoins Holwell Shuster & Goldberg as Partner

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP announced today that Priyanka Timblo, a former associate at the firm who contributed to a number of the firm’s major litigation victories in recent years, has rejoined HSG as a partner.

“Priyanka is a known and treasured talent among HSG’s lawyers and clients, who share tremendous excitement over her return to the firm,” said Richard Holwell, co-founder of the firm and former judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. “Priyanka is a dynamic addition to the partnership, and a fearsomely talented litigator who will once again play a vital role in our clients’ most significant engagements. We are delighted to welcome her back.”

Priyanka, who practiced at HSG from 2017-21, will advise clients in a broad range of high-stakes commercial litigation and arbitration disputes. She has particular experience handling antitrust and breach of contract matters on both the plaintiff and defense side. Priyanka returns to the firm from Omni Bridgeway, a global leader in legal finance and risk management, where she developed valuable experience analyzing, pricing, and managing legal risk as an investment professional.

“HSG is unmatched in the intensity with which our lawyers practice their craft. There is nothing we back down from when it comes to fighting for our clients, and every twist in a case is a creative challenge we relish. That ethos is our north star. It is how I was trained here, and I can’t wait to dive back into it alongside the colleagues I so admire,” said Priyanka. “Joining the partnership is an honor and the fulfillment of a personal dream.”

Priyanka is a seasoned litigator with jury trial and first chair experience. She was part of the HSG trial team that successfully represented Valassis, a MacAndrews & Forbes company, as plaintiff in a high-stakes antitrust dispute against News Corp. in the Southern District of New York. The case settled confidentially during jury deliberations after a three-week trial. Priyanka also advised Visa in multi-district class action antitrust litigation filed on behalf of merchants, as well as in opt-out cases brought by the world’s largest retailers, challenging network rules benefitting all domestic cardholders.

In private practice, Priyanka has dedicated a significant portion of her time to pro bono matters, most recently as part of the HSG team that filed a lawsuit with the ACLU of Louisiana’s Justice Lab against police officers for using excessive force against a cooperating Black man with preexisting injuries. She has been named to Profiles in Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching List, and previously served on the National Women’s Law Center’s Leadership Advisory Committee. She is passionate about promoting diversity within the legal profession and has served as a member of HSG’s Diversity & Inclusion committee.

Priyanka received her LL.B. and B.C.L. from McGill University Faculty of Law, where she was a senior editor of the McGill Law Journal. She received her B.A. from the University of Miami. She started her legal career as a litigation associate in the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, and clerked for the Honorable Eileen Gillese and the Honorable Sarah Pepall of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
