Si-Yo Music Society Foundation Changes Name to Classically Connected, Inc.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Si-Yo Music Society Foundation, Inc. announced today that it has changed its name to Classically Connected, Inc. to mark the beginning of a new era for the non-profit arts organization.

“Connection is a core part of who we are as an organization and it has become more important than ever to bring people together through the shared love of classical music,” said Robert O’Brien, executive director.

O’Brien recognized the recent departure of Chairwoman and President Eva Lerner-Lam, who stepped down in April 2022. “Given our current focus on reorganization and search for executive leadership, it makes sense to rebrand. By placing our mission right in our name, we are emphasizing how our organization works to connect artists, luthiers, audiences, patrons, students, educators and researchers,” he said.

Founded in 1966, the organization has substantially expanded its number of affiliated artists, programs and partner institutions in the last several years.

“While our name has changed, our purpose remains the same,” said Karen Neus, board of trustees chair. “We are pleased to embark on this new chapter as we honor our legacy.”
