Patricia Hambrecht Joins Pryor Cashman in New York

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pryor Cashman is pleased to announce that Patricia G. Hambrecht has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Art Law Group in New York. Throughout the course of her over four decades-long career, Hambrecht has established herself as a leader in the art world, and has previously served as president and general counsel of Christie’s North and South America, and deputy chairperson, chief business development officer, and general counsel of Phillips Auctioneers LLC.

An art and luxury goods transactional attorney with extraordinary market and deal-making experience, Hambrecht represents clients in high-profile – and often sensitive – art transactions and related disputes. In addition to her executive roles at Christie’s and Phillips, Hambrecht also served as worldwide president of Harry Winston, Inc., and is the founder of Jaspar LLC, an exclusive jewelry advisory service. She began her legal career at Hughes Hubbard & Reed.

“With a combined background in private practice and in-house legal and business positions at auction houses and luxury jewelers, Patty is a distinguished addition to our Art Law Group,” said Ronald H. Shechtman, managing partner of Pryor Cashman. “She brings a tremendous depth of knowledge and a unique level of sophistication to her practice, and we are very fortunate to have her at our firm.”

“I am thrilled to join Pryor Cashman’s renowned Art Law Group,” said Hambrecht. “The practice is well-respected throughout the art community, and is known as a leader in both high-level transactions and complex litigation disputes. I look forward to working with the team to provide the highest level of support for our art market clients.”

Hambrecht earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and received her B.A. from Yale University, summa cum laude.
