Guidepost Solutions Welcomes Specialist in Re-Engineering Compliance & Ethics Programs

Seasoned Compliance Professional Eric T. Young Joins Firm

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guidepost Solutions, a global leader in compliance, investigations, monitoring, and security and technology consulting, announced that Eric T. Young joined the firm as a senior managing director in its New York office. He will work closely with clients on re-engineering compliance, ethics, and regulatory technology programs to enable reputable and sustainable business growth.

“As the risk landscape continues to widen for companies, we are delighted to welcome Eric, a seasoned and prominent compliance professional, to our team,” stated Guidepost’s CEO Julie Myers Wood. “Eric brings years of hands-on experience mitigating and managing regulatory issues, as well as successfully navigating every aspect of the compliance process. He will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”

Young joins Guidepost after spending close to 40 years in chief compliance officer roles at some of the world’s largest institutions, including five global banks. He focuses on building and sustaining enterprise compliance programs aligned with the US Department of Justice Sentencing Guidelines, the rules and regulations enforced by the Federal Reserve Board, US Treasury including Comptroller of the Currency, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, New York State Department of Financial Services, and UK Financial Conduct Authority, as well as the Bank Secrecy Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and Basel Standards.

Prior to joining Guidepost, Young was the chief executive officer and founder of Young Enterprises, a compliance advisory firm. Previously, he held chief compliance officer positions at BNP Paribas Americas, S&P Global Ratings, Royal Bank of Scotland, General Electric, UBS, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and JPMorgan Chase. He began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Young is an adjunct professor of ethics and compliance classes at Fordham University School of Law and serves on the advisory boards for multiple AI technology companies including Rebellion Research, WebDoctors.com, HyperVerge, Inc. and AI Data Innovations. In December 2021, he received the inaugural Lifetime Achievement (Excellence in Compliance Community) Award by RAW Compliance, a non-profit global compliance platform and community.

Young is a frequent speaker and author and recently published the book “Declaration of Independence” about the strategic partnership between chief compliance officers and boards of directors to hold management more accountable.

Young received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Columbia University.
