Mispro to Open New Research Facility in RTP

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--()--Mispro Biotech Services, North America’s leading contract vivarium organization (CVO) with locations in all major U.S. biotech hubs, has announced expansion in Research Triangle Park (RTP) with a new facility set to open in early 2022.

Mispro’s full-service vivarium research facility will be centrally located within one of RTP’s most innovative biopark campuses, with easy access to highways and nearby amenities.

Mispro is expanding into a larger state-of-the-art lab facility to better serve market demand in North Carolina’s rapidly growing biotech industry. “Since we first opened our doors here in 2013, we have seen incredible growth in the RTP cluster,” said Mispro CEO, Philippe Lamarre. “The time was right to expand into a new facility with more space and modern amenities where we can support the influx of biotech’s who are seeking in vivo lab space.”

Mispro is RTP’s only contract vivarium facility, offering area biotechs access to vivarium rental space and in vivo research services that enable them to keep preclinical studies in-house without having to assume the capital and operational expense of building and running a vivarium.

“Mispro has become a cornerstone of the Triangle ecosystem as contract research and support companies are finding increased favor,” said Laura Gunter, president of NCBIO. “Biotechs of all sizes and therapeutic disciplines are focusing more on their core competencies, which is opening the door to innovation like Mispro’s contract vivarium option. We are pleased to see their decision to expand here and support more North Carolina companies."

Mispro’s contract vivarium facilities and vivarium services are designed to support companies at different stages of development and funding, from small startups to mid-size biotechs, to mature biopharma. Along with access to private or shared research space, Mispro supports its clients with comprehensive animal care and regulatory compliance services including husbandry, veterinary, in vivo technical services, and its own Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).

“Mispro is an important resource for RTP as I see a growing need from early-stage life science companies to have access to a vivarium to advance their preclinical programs,” said Ed Field, President of BioLabs NC and COO of Cereius, Inc. “Several Biolabs NC companies, including Cereius, Inc. which I helped start, have benefitted from Mispro’s exceptional facility and services. This new facility will no doubt be the next generation in contract vivaria supporting the next generation of drug development in RTP.”

Mispro’s new Research Triangle Park (RTP) vivarium research facility is set to open in early 2022.
