Pine River Hires Former Millennium and Garda Portfolio Manager Matthew Abroe to Oversee Inflation Strategies

MINNETONKA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pine River Capital Management L.P. (“Pine River”), a global relative value alternative asset manager, today announced that Matthew Abroe has joined Pine River as a Portfolio Manager, effective immediately. In his new role, Abroe will be responsible for overseeing all inflation strategies at Pine River.

Abroe joins Pine River from Millennium Management, where he served as a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for leading a fixed income relative value team focused on inflation-linked products in developed markets. Prior to his time with Millennium, Abroe worked for Garda Capital Partners – formerly Black River Asset Management – for 14 years, ten of which he spent as the firm’s lead Portfolio Manager for inflation-linked products.

Abroe holds a B.S. in Physics from Loyola University and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Minnesota.
