ANANDA Scientific’s Liquid Structure™ Cannabidiol (CBD) to Be Clinically Evaluated for Opioid Use Disorder

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ANANDA Scientific Inc., a biotech pharma company, announced a clinical trial to evaluate Nantheia™ ATL5, an investigational drug using cannabidiol in ANANDA’s proprietary Liquid Structure™ delivery technology for Opioid Use Disorder. An Investigational New Drug (IND) application has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for this trial.

Pre-clinical and initial clinical studies show ANANDA’s Liquid Structure technology (licensed from Lyotropic Delivery Systems (LDS) Ltd., Jerusalem, Israel), enhances the effectiveness and stability of CBD. Nantheia™ ATL5 is an oral product with 100mg of CBD per softgel capsule and is ANANDA’s investigational drug utilizing Liquid Structure™ technology.

This trial is being conducted at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai led by principal investigator Yasmin L Hurd, Ph.D, the Ward-Coleman Chair of Translational Neuroscience and the Director of the Addiction Institute at Mount Sinai.
