Holzer Health System Partners with PeraHealth for Proactive Surveillance

Health system invests in state-of-the-art predictive analytics solution to enhance patient care

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As a part of its continued mission to strive for patient-centered excellence, Holzer Health System has selected PeraHealth’s Rothman Index (RI) patient surveillance platform to support their clinicians in southeastern Ohio. Holzer Health System continues to innovate by providing the latest technology which now includes the Rothman Index at its sites in both Gallipolis and Jackson.

PeraHealth’s FDA cleared patient surveillance platform synthesizes large amounts of real-time EMR data to generate a powerful new view, showing the trajectory of each patient’s condition and providing clinicians with actionable insights for patient care. PeraHealth’s solutions captures important but subtle changes in patient condition hours or days earlier than existing vitals-based warning systems. The platform not only supports early warning but also helps with patient placement, including transfer decisions around placing patients at the appropriate level of care and discharge readiness.

Holzer Health System’s collaboration with PeraHealth speaks to their commitment to patient-centered excellence as they continue to grow and expand the boundaries of care with leading technology. At Holzer, the Rothman Index will enhance care transitions by ensuring the right patients are in the right bed and level of care. With enhanced proactive surveillance, all patients, including COVID patients, will benefit from the additional layer of insight available to their physicians and nurses. PeraHealth’s analytics platform will also expedite Holzer’s internal readmission review process helping improve behind-the-scenes operational efficiency.

“We are excited to add the Rothman Index to our clinicians’ toolkit. The predictive nature of the algorithm will allow us to intervene earlier and ensure that every patient is at the appropriate level of care,” says Susan Rowe, VP of Nursing Services. “We plan to seamlessly integrate the Rothman Index within our clinical workflow and trust that it will be an integral part of the way that we deliver care moving forward.”

“We are delighted that Holzer Health System has selected PeraHealth to advance its proactive surveillance capabilities. We bring best-of-breed technology that is both FDA cleared and clinically proven, but equally importantly we are excited to work with Holzer to share our expertise on clinical workflow integration and implementation of best practices which are so critical to achieving operational improvements for clinicians, as well as meaningful results at the patient level. We look forward to supporting Holzer’s community through an on-going commitment to innovation and partnership,” says PeraHealth CEO Joseph Beals.
