SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--42Crunch, the Developer-First API Security platform vendor, announced it has been named as a leader in KuppingerCole’s Leadership Compass report for API Management and Security including, overall leadership, product leadership and innovation leadership. The report also awarded 42Crunch’s solution “Strong Positive” and “Positive” ratings across the areas of Security, Functionality, Interoperability, Usability and Deployment.

The report notes, 42Crunch has joined the leader category due to its “financial stability, steady innovation, and continued investment into new functionality.” The report commented on the substantial investment 42Crunch “was able to secure in 2021, allowing it to increase its development team, as well as focus on growing market visibility, winning an impressive number of new enterprise customers.”

The report notes that 42Crunch has been “rated high on innovation because of their disruptive product developments in their respective focus areas of API security.” The report continues that 42Crunch is “able to deliver innovative API security features”, and that the company's “strong focus on developers means that its platform is designed to be integrated into the API development lifecycle at all stages: available directly in development environments and integrated into CI/CD pipelines.”

Commenting on the report, its author, Alexei Balaganski, an analyst at KuppingerCole, said, “Both API management and API security market segments continue to evolve and grow, driven by a massive increase in API adoption, as well as by an ongoing pressure of security and compliance risks APIs are exposed to.

“Only by combining proactive application security measures for developers with continuous activity monitoring and deep API-specific threat analysis for operations teams and smart, risk-based, and actionable automation for security analysts can one ensure consistent management, governance, and security of corporate APIs and thus the continuity of business processes depending on them,” continued Balaganski.

Jacques Declas, CEO at 42Crunch, said, “42Crunch has invested heavily in developing API security tools and integrations that are not only critical for the continuous protection of individual APIs across the enterprise, but also empower developers and security teams to discover vulnerabilities. We are proud to be recognized by KuppingerCole for our overall leadership, product and innovation leadership in API Management and Security Solutions, and look forward to announcing more API advancements in the future.”
