Indianapolis associate Kevin Ochs, who started at GEICO in January 2019, applied after hearing of the benefits and work-life balance.

Like so many associates, Ochs had spent years working in the hospitality/retail field but grew frustrated at the lack of opportunities for advancement.

With a growing family, Ochs had been looking for a more stable job for 6 months, applying to more than 50 places. When a former co-worker came into his restaurant, she mentioned that she currently worked at GEICO and encouraged him to apply.

Ochs was still on the fence. “I didn’t know anything about insurance aside from having a policy. The industry just didn’t excite me,” Ochs said.

Still, Ochs wasn’t sold on GEICO being his long-term employer. Additionally, Ochs enjoys the possibilities for advancement GEICO affords him. “There is an abundance of opportunity,” he says enthusiastically. Within a year, Ochs was promoted to a training role.
