NewRez NOW Celebrates Successful Inaugural Year

After a successful first year, NewRez’s community investment program will include a new employee recognition initiative and refreshed grant program in 2021

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NewRez LLC (“NewRez”, the “Company”), a national mortgage lending and servicing organization, announced the successful inaugural year of its community investment program, NewRez Neighborhood Outreach Works (“NOW”). The mission of NewRez NOW is to invest and support the health, vibrancy, and sustainability of communities through charitable contribution, outreach, and participation.

In its first year NewRez Now made significant progress on this mission, donating over $1.6 million through employee donations, corporate matches, Company grants, volunteer time-off, and other external community giving programs. We also recognized a number of employees during the year for their commitments to enhancing and contributing to the communities in which they live and work.

“I am incredibly proud of the overwhelming generosity and participation from our employees and our customers that allowed us to make a positive impact supporting more than 1,200 non-profits and exceed our ambitious $1 million giving goal,” said Baron Silverstein, President of NewRez. “As a young company, piloting a community giving program focused on supporting our communities has been truly inspiring and, as an entire company, we are looking forward to the continued impact we will make together in 2021.”

In 2020, NewRez NOW launched a corporate match program allowing the Company to match employee contributions and creating the opportunity for individuals to donate to causes that strongly resonate with them and their communities. These matches accounted for over two-thirds of the total donations for 2020. Each employee also received “Volunteer Time-Off” to encourage individuals to donate their time.

Additionally, NewRez NOW hosted its first “You Save, We Give” program where the Company donated one toy to Toys for Tots for every loan locked in November. This program involved borrowers in the gift of giving and helped generate almost $500,000 in donations.

“This past year, NewRez NOW initiatives united our employees at a time when we were physically separated due to COVID-19 and provided us the opportunity to feel that we were collaboratively doing good during very challenging times,” said Liz Monahan, Chief Human Resources Officer of NewRez. “As the world turns to 2021, NewRez is committed to continuing to lead by example through acts of good that will have a lasting positive impact on people and communities.”

New in 2021, NewRez NOW launched an employee recognition program to highlight team members who go above and beyond for their community. In addition, we enhanced our NewRez NOW grant program to further allow employees to support nonprofit community organizations that are close to their hearts.
