Knightscope Announces Elevated Body Temperature Detection

Company Takes Steps to Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Knightscope, Inc., a developer of advanced physical security technologies utilizing fully autonomous robots focused on enhancing U.S. security operations, announced today that it has added Elevated Body Temperature (EBT) detection to its growing list of features and capabilities.

In an effort to help combat the spread of COVID-19, Knightscope developed a way for its clients to measure body temperatures of employees and visitors entering a facility. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that a person with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater has a "fever," a symptom of COVID-19. Knightscope's K1 Autonomous Security Robot (ASR) now has an optional EBT feature that monitors building entry points to identify high-risk individuals and further ensure safety in public spaces.
