China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair 2020 Closes With More Than 100,000 Daily Consumer Goods Showcased

YIWU, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair 2020 came to a successful conclusion on November 16, 2020. The 4-day event attracted nearly 1,000 exhibitors, with exhibits from 78 countries and regions, among which 41 were "Belt and Road" countries including Russia, Poland, Greece, Romania, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Iran, Sri Lanka and Armenia.

Covering household goods, food & beverages, handicrafts, accessories, and home decoration materials, the fair showcased more than 100,000 daily consumer products from around the world in five themed pavilions, namely Quality Life (Wine & Coffee), Asia Pavilion, Europe Pavilion, Americas-Oceania-Africa Pavilion, and Quality Life (Home Decoration Materials).

Russia, as the guest country of honor, made a comprehensive display of their economy, trade, culture and art with the support of the Russian Consulate in Shanghai, the Russian Beijing Cultural Center, and the Russian Export Center Group.

This year, 93 exhibitors came to Yiwu directly following their participation in Shanghai International Import Expo that concluded on November 10, a figure much higher than last year’s 26. These exhibitors played a positive role in promoting the trade at Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair. Among them, Jacobsens Bakery, which is the second largest butter cookie producer in Denmark, met with nearly 50 buyers on site, achieving quite a satisfactory exhibition effect.

Due to the impact of the pandemic, the number of exhibitors had a slight drop this year. Nevertheless, the fair still attracted a total 80,000 visitors and buyers, including 29,807 professional buyers. The procurement meeting, which provided one-on-one trade opportunities and language services, gathered 100 suppliers and attracted 58 buyers.

In order to provide the exhibitors and buyers with a better understanding of Yiwu’s import sector and what it has been doing to promote import trade of small commodities, the fair arranged a total of 6,385 exhibitors and buyers to visit Yiwu’s incubation center for imported goods, realizing an interaction between the exhibition and the local market.
