Miami Residents to Receive COVID-19 Testing and Medical Care from On-Demand Healthcare Service Ready

Ready is opening access to healthcare for some of the city’s most vulnerable populations

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On-demand healthcare service Ready is now offering at-home COVID-19 testing and other healthcare services for the residents of Miami-Dade County and Broward County.

Ready is working to improve health outcomes and increase the health and safety of Miami residents, particularly in underserved communities, by offering patients support in their home as opposed to a clinic or hospital. By delivering quality medical care directly to residents, Ready is advancing and broadening the opportunities for treatment across the healthcare landscape.

“Bringing healthcare to Miami residents when and where they need it is an important step in unlocking access to medical care,” said Justin Dangel, CEO and Founder of Ready. “Even more meaningful is that our on-site medical professionals visiting the patients’ homes typically live and work in the communities they serve, giving back to the community that they themselves call home.”

In addition to Ready’s services available to the general public, the Health Foundation of South Florida (HFSF) has granted up to $650,000 to Ready to provide at-home COVID testing to residents of low-income housing developments or areas where access to a car or other means of transportation is a challenge. The partnership aims to reach up to 10,000 South Florida residents and is a part of HFSF’s commitment of $1.5 million in funding to local nonprofits to address COVID-19 racial and ethnic disparities in access to COVID testing. Ready has offered similar services in other major metropolitan areas such as New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New Orleans.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated exactly how critical it is for everyone in our community to have access to quality health care,” said HFSF President and CEO Steven E. Marcus. “It has also shown us the tremendous impact social and economic conditions can have on people’s ability to stay healthy plus how inequity can drive disturbing disparities. Our goal with this important investment is to address those disparities but also to reduce transmission among our most vulnerable neighbors.”

Ready is prepared to treat a full range of medical issues including cold and flu symptoms; ear, nose and throat issues; skin issues; and gastrointestinal issues. Ready is also providing urgent care and at-home COVID-19 tests in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Reno, Las Vegas, Nevada, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and Houma. The company accepts most insurance types, including Medicare and Medicaid, and will deliver testing and home visits for uninsured residents during the COVID-19 crisis as well.
